SnowWorld at Lake Lanier Islands

Those of us who moved to our Hamilton Mill home in Georgia to escape snowy winters might not be as excited as others, but even if you hate winter you’ll love the latest addition of SnowWorld at Lake Lanier Islands!  There is lots to do and Lanier Islands only about a 20 minute drive from our Hamilton Mill Subdivision.

“SnowWorld is a completely new all-day offering that has been several years in the making and we are really excited about its launch,” explains Chairman of the Board for Lanier Islands, Virgil Williams. “For the first few weeks, it will coincide with Lanier Islands Christmas – a new interpretation of our famous Magical Nights of Lights. Those two events combined make the resort THE ideal holiday-themed get-away for families – and I haven’t even mentioned special dining events and accommodation packages at the Lodge! Once the holidays have come to an end, SnowWorld will remain in full swing on weekends until the beginning of March as we strive to offer something truly unique for families all four seasons of the year.”

Snow World is being held at the same time as Lanier Islands Christmas — featuring a newly re-imagined holiday light show. SnowWorld has five thrilling speed slides featuring slick “icy” surfaces in place of water, a snowy 13-lane tube slide, four snow play zones, ice skating at the Polar rink and firepits for roasting marshmallows that will be open during the day and into the evening on select dates.  Just past the Polar Rink you will find the Glacier Café: the first of TEN new dining options located throughout the area that offer a wide variety of menus. Be sure and grab your marshmallow sticks as just steps away you will find the first of many fire pits for roasting mallows and making s’mores!

Once the sun goes down, the lights go up for a blended car ride and strolling illumination experience that winds through the resort and into SnowWorld.

In addition to dozens of animated holiday-themed light displays, the Lanier Islands Christmas will include the SnowWorld Village with holiday shopping, carnival rides and games and visits with Santa.

The NEW Lanier Islands Christmas opened nightly beginning November 21 and runs through December 31, 2014.

SnowWorld will also be open on select days all the way through March 1, 2015.
